About the Kontakt Free Player (and the "Add Library" tab)

One have generally to differ between Native Instruments libraries and libraries made from 3rd companies. NI libraries are running without any restriction at both platforms: Kontakt full version or the Free Kontakt Player. Besides, the NI libraries appear at the "Library" Tab of Kontakt. 3rd companies are free to decide whether to buy expensive licences from NI to enable their libraries to behave the same the NI libraries do or not. That´s the reason why some 3rd company libraries are qualified to be added into the Library Tab and are playable without the restricted "DEMO" mode at the Free Kontakt Player.

We at Cinematique Instruments have decided to save the money for expensive licences and keep the prices reasonable for our instruments. That is why you can play our instruments only in the 30 min limitied DEMO mode at the Free Kontakt Player and why you can´t add our instruments to your Kontakt Library Tab. You have to load it via the Browser Tab.

Format and Compatibility

Sample Format:

All samples are recorded in 16bit, 44.1 kHz, stereo or mono

Instrument Format:

All instruments are in .nki format for Native Instruments Kontakt, requiring a full version of Kontakt 3 or higher is required. If you are working with the free Kontakt Player, you can just use our instruments in the ***DEMO*** mode for 30 minutes.

Depth and Complexity:

The basic principle and top priority of our library is the high playability of each instrument combined with a brilliant and inspiring sound. As a consequence we focus on recording exclusively such notes and variations of each instrument which are really necessary to reach this goal. Thus each instrument has got as many Round Robin variations and velocity layers as it requires. The final arrangement is the outcome of a fine adjustment by means of the sampler engine. So, we don´t limit the number of samples, but instead record the amount sufficient for our purposes, affording us the opportunity to offer our instruments for a reasonable price.
