The Hammered Dulcimer is a high fidelity sounding string instrument with 31 pairs of strings. Its sound is well-known in film scores and in ethnic Arabic music. It is a wonderful instrument to enrich your music with lovely strings' shining and glimmering sound.
Next to the traditional Mallets we also added articulations played with Drum Sticks, a Plectrum, Palm Muted and a dirty Vintage version from the first draft of our Hammered Dulcimer.

Organic Sound
We mainly focused on capturing the notes in a very realistic and organic way. All main articulations were recorded with a cool condenser in four times round robins and 2-3 velocity layers.

Glissando Feature
Utilizing the five articulations we implemented a Glissando feature, which triggers hold down notes by the mod wheel.
Tremolo Feature
Using all articulations we added a Tremolo feature, which can be easily controlled by the mod wheel. This tremolo can create a tragic and dramatic effect, perfectly fitting in many different music styles and genres.
