More than on expected
The Lap Harp is a musical instrument from eastern Europe also known as 'Perepyolochka' in Cyrillic, which literally translates to "Little Quail ". Due to its easy playability, it is popular with musical beginners. In nature, it has 15 diatonically tuned strings, which are often in the key of G major. In the Kontakt patch, you can play it chromatic and well-tempered.
The Lap Harp comes along with 3 Articulations, 4 Round Robins and 2 velocities at a low volume.
For our Lap Harp interpretation we chose a plectrum, thumb plucking, and a piano hammer for the articulations. As an additional gimmick, we implemented a Glissando and a Tremolo function via the script, which affects the midi behavior and enables you to get a step closer to the natural playability of the actual instrument.
We came out with an instrument that enriches your music with a lovely organic feel, whether you use it as a solo or just as a background instrument.
Please note. Kontakt 5 or higher full version is required.

Organic Sound with Realistic Feel
We've taken great care to capture the natural and organic sound of the Lap Harp. We've recorded all the main articulations with a high-quality microphone, using four times round robins and 3 velocity layers.
3 Articulations
- Plectrum
- Finger
- Hammer
Tremolo Feature
Utilizing the three articulations we implemented a Tremolo feature, which can be easily controlled by the mod wheel. This tremolo can create a tragic and dramatic effect, perfectly fitting in many different music styles and genres.
Glissando Feature
Using all articulations we added a Glissando feature, which triggers hold down notes by the mod wheel.
