Warm unique strings
This is a renaissance Lute with 8-course strings - tuned in unison. The lute is equipped with nylon strings - it is astonishing how different a lute is used in music. In the Medieval period, it was the most important instrument for secular music. Nowadays it is also used in score music, such as in the Jim Jarmusch's movie "Only Lovers Left Alive”.
But our lute is not just sampled notes spread on a keyboard! Like real string instruments, it is now possible to play the same note in different hand positions, each with a different timbre. You can make a melody sound different and achieve a more natural feel when played by changing this position.
We also concentrated on the behavior of the course strings. Besides a separate volume knob for the coarse string, we further defined the parameters flam and detune, which lets you vary the time and the tune in relation to the original string. This can be adjusted by separate knobs.
Please note. Kontakt 5 or higher full version is required.

Organic Sound
We mainly focused on capturing the notes in a very realistic and organic way. All main articulations were recorded with a cool condenser in four times round robins and 2-3 velocity layers.
Coarse Feature
Have control over the volume, detune and delay of the unisono string notes.
2 Hand Positions
We recorded the lute on a low and a high hand position separately to offer different flavour.
Tremolo Feature
Utilizing the four articulations we implemented a Tremolo feature, which can be easily controlled by the mod wheel. This tremolo can create a tragic and dramatic effect, perfectly fitting in many different music styles and genres.
Additional Features
We included additional features, like an arpeggiator and a sequencer. You can also shape the envelope to create different sounds.
